Einstein said, “Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another.”
Energy Leadership applies this concept to your interaction with others—helping you to shift your energy to more productive forms and thereby making you a more effective leader and communicator. In the context of Energy Leadership, the question is not whether you lead, but how you lead.
When I coach you, here’s how it works:
- I’ll help you recognize different levels of energy in your professional and personal relationships, from low (catabolic) energy—which is destructive, draining, and toxic—to high (anabolic) energy—which is creative, innovative, and inspiring.
- I’ll help you identify triggers that bring you down to lower levels of energy and work with you to develop your ability to quickly shift out of those lower levels of energy.
- I’ll also teach you how to engage with others with higher (anabolic) energy—with strength, clarity, and resolve. This kind of emotionally intelligent interaction involves a high level of awareness; it is different from mere cheerleading or what we might stereotypically refer to as “high energy.”
The net effect is to shift your perspective so that you can see your own power—you can take ownership of the choices that you make in your career and personal life; you can be a more effective leader and communicator. You are the creator of your own world!
